For over 40 years, Richard Arrowood has been unwavering in his commitment to winegrowing in Sonoma County and showcasing our unique terroir to the world.

From our diverse portfolio of acclaimed wines, we've developed four elegant gift pairings that will make a wonderful present for the wine lover on your holiday shopping list. We're sure they will enjoy what is in the bottle as much as we did making them.

Réserve Spéciale Wines

Réserve Spéciale is our highest designation and represents the crème de la crème of our cellar. Starting a few months after harvest, Winemaster Richard Arrowood hand selects lots of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon that have the highest character and provides them with additional barrel aging for our Réserve Spéciale designation.

Sonoma County Wines

Sonoma County is known for its incredible diversity, which is on display in this refined pairing. Our Winemaster Richard Arrowood has been at the forefront of winegrowing in Sonoma County for over 40 years and his expertise with Chardonnay from cool coastal sites and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Mayacama Mountain range, is a fascinating study in the unique qualities of Sonoma County.

Rhône Wines

Richard Arrowood's longstanding partnership with Richard and Saralee Kunde's vineyard in the Russian River Valley has created a brilliant instrument for the hand of our master winemaker. This extraordinary site produces a Viognier with an aromatic bouquet and wonderful acidity, and a Syrah with vibrant fruit and incredible structure.

Richard's Philosophy:

"Truly remarkable, highly flavorful wines have much to do with the terroir and how the fruit is handled and processed at the winery. Like a physician, our first duty is to do no harm. Paying close attention to the details of terroir and oenological methodologies that allow the winemaker to extract these important components from the grape itself is crucial. The health of the soil is another key element to the overall health of the grapes, and when you are growing wines in the vineyard, organically and sustainably grown vines tend to grow better wines.

For added complexity, there is also the practice of attenuating the amount of fruit each vine is allowed to bear. In many cases depending upon variety, we heavily thin the clusters of grapes, producing a much smaller crop than would otherwise have been harvested. That said, I think what has to be remembered is that the "winemakers art" is essentially what contributes to the wine, its special personality and flavor profile. As the old saying goes, you can't make great wine from poor grapes but you sure can make poor wine from great grapes if you don't know what you are doing."
