Located on a hillside just outside the town of Glen Ellen, overlooking the Sonoma Valley, Arrowood Winery is the real life dream of Richard Arrowood and his wife and partner, Alis Demers Arrowood. Completed in 1987, the winery is modeled after a New England farmhouse. With its winemaking facilities hidden from view, the building sits in perfect harmony with the surrounding countryside.
In addition to the main building, in 1998 the new Hospitality House and Visitor Center was opened. The facility was designed to complement the main winery building and is situated next door, cradling the estate vineyards below. The bright and airy tasting room opens into a wraparound veranda, which overlooks the vineyards and the rolling hills in the distance. Here is where visitors may taste wines, many of which can't be found anywhere else. Also, the Hospitality House is the starting point for the private tours of the Arrowood Winery.
