2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley, Réserve Spéciale 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley, Réserve Spéciale

Our Cabernet Sauvignon, Réserve Spéciale, is known by many as our flagship wine. If a single Arrowood wine might possess and express the essence of Arrowood winemaking, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley, Réserve Spéciale, could be it.

Since 1992 Arrowood has been making Réserve designate Cabernet Sauvignon. The same passion that inspired it then, continues today. Our drive for perfection is unlike anything Sonoma has ever seen. It is a special wine that is born out of an all-consuming obsession. That drive has allowed us to showcase Sonoma by demonstrating the greatness that can be achieved within its borders.

The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Réserve Spéciale, for the first time, distinguishes itself as a Sonoma Valley designate. Three top Sonoma Valley vineyard sources come together in the making of this wine. Smothers-Remick Ridge Vineyards, Monte Rosso Vineyard, and Murray Ranch Vineyard each represent the best benchland, hillside and mountain vineyards in Sonoma Valley. Smothers-Remick Ridge Vineyards has been a component in every Réserve Spéciale dating back to the first vintage in 1992. Both the Monte Rosso Vineyard and Murray Ranch Vineyard came onboard with Arrowood in 2000. We have always, on one hand, been pure Sonoma. Now, on the other hand, we can add Sonoma Valley too.

Our sense of worth is driven by our own standards and not those of others. Our dedication to our ideals has always earned us respect and has always led to superior wine. Wine writer/critic, Robert Parker, Jr., recently wrote:

"The age worthiness and brilliant quality of Dick Arrowood's Réserve Spéciale Cabernet Sauvignon is reflected time and time again in blind tastings when it is inserted against Napa's finest." - Wine Advocate #174.

He went on to give acclaim with awarding a 95-point rating. Our relentless drive for perfection has earned Arrowood a spot on the stage of world class Northern California wines.

It is one thing to read or listen to someone talk about the quality, cite ratings; we invite you to experience for yourself this wine's quality coming through on the palate. Sometimes everything just comes together in perfect fashion, resulting in a wine approachable in its youth and promising of age worthiness.
