Acclaim
94 Points - "…the result is a dark ruby/purple-colored
wine with plenty of chocolatey blackberry fruit notes, medium to full body, super freshness, purity, and a sumptuous texture.
This is stunning stuff to drink over the next 5-6 years."
- Robert Parker, Jr., Wine Advocate, #174 December 2007
Winemaker's Notes
There is a traditional winemaking technique long practiced in the Côte Rôtie appellation of the Rhône Valley. The local vignerons
there will often co-ferment a small amount of Viognier with the Syrah to lift the aromatics and liven the texture. Turns out, the
protocol works well in Sonoma County, too. Our 2005 Saralee’s Syrah is highly aromatic and very lively. The nose is a blend of dark
fruit and pepper. The palate is dense and powerful with firm tannins and great balance. The wine is spicy, commanding and exotic.
